May is Mary month

May is the month we honor Mary
When the cornerstone of St. Mary Church was laid in October of 1866 the church was placed under the patronage of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
When the Catholic church honors Mary the whole month of May it’s a reminder to us of the patroness of our church.  During this month set aside time to honor our Blessed Mother and ask her intercession for us to bring us closer to her son.
A few ways to honor Mary:
Pray the rosary
Pray The Hail Mary
Make a space indoors with a picture or statue
Make a garden or patio spot with a statue and flowers.

This Sunday, May 14 is Mother’s Day so as we honor Mary we wish all mothers a very blessed day.
There will be a variety of Mary prayer cards, with pictures of some of our Mary statues, available in church this weekend for you to take home.
