Good evening. This weekend we celebrate the Second Sunday of Easter also referred to to as Divine Mercy Sunday. Divine Mercy requirements to be relieve of all temporal punishment include going to Confession with in 21 days of Divine Mercy Sunday, receiving the Eucharist, praying one Our Father and Nicene Creed, one heartfelt prayer to Jesus, and the intentions of Pope Francis before he died. Creation Care shirts will be sold this weekend after all Masses in the hallway. The first weekend of May we will have a second collection for alms and anointing of the sick after Mass. We pray for Pope Francis soul and this weekend we will pray the Rosary before all weekend Masses for him. There is also a novena that you can pray for Pope Francis which you can find on the website or there are copies in the back of Church. We also pray for Gerald Seib, the brother of Rich Seib who recently died, and for the Cardinals as they prepare to gather and elect a new Pope. Thank you for all you do for our parish. Good afternoon. This week as we continue our Holy Week journey we celebrate Holy Thursday at 7 pm this evening where Christ instituted the Eucharist. There will be Confessions at 6:15 pm to 6:45 pm this evening. Tomorrow as we remember Christ dying for our sins on Good Friday, we will have Stations of the Cross at 3 pm with Confessions at 2:30 to 3:30 pm. We will have Confessions again at 6:15 pm to 6:45 pm with Good Friday service at 7 pm. Come spend some time in Adoration after the service ends in Rager Hall. The Easter Vigil this Saturday will begin on the north side of Church with the fire rite at 8 pm weather permitting. Come be present to welcome our newest members into the Catholic faith. Mass times on Easter Sunday will be 7:30 am and 10 am with Confessions before each Mass. There will be no Mass Sunday night at 4 pm. The offices and food pantry will be closed on Monday. There will be no Mass, adoration or Confessions on Easter Monday April 21 also. There is a creation care meeting Monday, April 21 at 6 pm. Earth day is Tuesday, April 22. We will celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday the weekend after Easter with normal weekend Mass times. To carry out the requirements for Divine Mercy please see the bulletin. We pray for those affected by the flooding and we pray for all those entering the Church. May we as community welcome them with open arms. Thanks to all those who helped make this Holy Week special: Deacon Dennis, Deacon Tom, our Staff, Tina and the choir, Marie, servers, cantors, lectors, ushers and those who cleaned the Church and decorated. Good evening. This weekend we celebrate Palm Sunday where Jesus enters Jerusalem and the people welcome Him. For Palm Sunday, we will start the two 4 pm Masses between Rager Hall and the Church. The 10 am Mass this Sunday we will start by the Oak tree in the south parking lot. This Friday we will have stations of the Cross at 5:30 pm. This week the Lenten Food Pantry Collection is Soup can or bag. Easter Flower memorials are due this coming Monday. The Chrism Mass will be next Tuesday at St. Benedict Cathedral at 5:30 pm. All are welcome to attend. Because of the Chrism Mass and Holy Week there will be no Mass Tuesday, Thursday or Good Friday at noon at St. Mary and John. Holy Thursday will take place Thursday, April 17 at 7 pm. Good Friday service will take place at 7 pm. There will be Stations of the Cross and Confessions at 3 pm on Good Friday. Easter Vigil Mass will be at 8 pm on Saturday, April 19. Easter Sunday Mass schedule is 7:30 am and 10 am. There is no 4 pm Mass Easter Sunday and no Mass Easter Monday April 21. Wisdom Day for Senior citizens will take place April 29 at St John Daylight starting at 8 am with Mass and go until 11 am. We pray for all those affected by the flooding.
