Weekly Announcements

January 9, 2026 - 6:30pm
Good evening. This weekend we celebrate the Baptism of the Lord, and the Father remarks, 'This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.' There will be a reception after 10 am Mass this Sunday in Rager Hall for Deacon Tom and Sheldona to thank them for their work at Sts. Mary and John and to wish them well in their future endeavors. The Social Committee wishes to announce the Parish Souper Saturday that will take place Saturday, January 24 after the 4 pm Mass in Rager Hall. There will be sign up sheets in the hallway by Rager Hall after the Saturday night Mass and early Sunday morning Mass this weekend and if necessary the following weekend to bring desserts, soups, bread and crackers. Any donations of spoons, bowls and napkins are also appreciated as well for Souper Saturday event. Also the Mardi Gras event will take place February 17 in Rager hall from 6 pm to 8 pm. The Christmas decorations will be taken down on Saturday, January 17 from 8 am to noon. All help is welcome. We pray for peace in our cities, Nigeria and Venezuela. We also pray for Deacon Tom and Sheldona. Thank you for all you do for our parish. May God bless your weekend.

Good evening. This Wednesday, December 31 we have Mary the Mother of God holy day of obligation. Mass times will be at 4 pm Wednesday evening and Thursday, January 1 Mass time is 9 am. Confessions will take place 45 minutes before Mass starts. The food pantry and office will continue to be closed until Monday, January 5. This coming weekend January 3 and 4 we will celebrate the Epiphany where Christ reveals Himself to the nations. We will have our second collection for alms and anointing of the sick after Mass. We will have a building and grounds meeting Thursday, January 8 at 6 pm. All are welcome. The parish men's group will not meet in January but will meet Monday, February 9 at 5:30 pm. All men are welcome who are 18 years or older. We pray for Deacon Tom and Sheldona Kempf as they move to the Spencer County area and he is reassigned as a Deacon. We give thanks for Deacon Tom and Sheldona's contributions to our parish and people and wish them the best. Thank you for all you do for our parish. May God bless your weekend.

Good evening. This Saturday from 8 am to noon Christmas Church decorating will take place. All are welcome. This Sunday there will be coffee and doughnuts after the 10 am Mass in Rager Hall. All are welcome. The Food Pantry will be closed Monday, December 22 until Monday, January 5. The Parish Office will be closed from December 23 at noon until Monday, January 5. Christmas Eve Mass schedule is Wednesday, December 24 at 4 pm and 9 pm. Christmas Day is 9 am. Mary the Mother of God, a Holy day of obligation Mass schedule is Wednesday, December 31 at 4 pm and January 1 at 9 am. We are in need of some ushers, lectors, extra-ordinary Eucharistic ministers and servers for the Christmas and for the Holy Day/New Year's Mass schedules. There is a sign up board in the back of Church. We pray for all families traveling and gathering this Christmas season and those who have no one to celebrate with.
