WEDDINGS

MASSES MAY BEGIN STARTING MAY 18, 2020
Matrimony may be celebrated within Mass or without Mass
Music should be limited.
Any applicable guidelines from the celebration of Mass must be followed.
Holy Communion should not be given outside of Mass
Only one reading, Responsorial Psalm and Gospel may be used.
Participation limited according to current social distancing guidelines.
Proximity between participants needs to take social distancing into consideration. (Priest to couple; couple to wedding party etc.)

Sts. Mary and John Parish has a long history of serving, forming, and leading couples through the engagement and marriage process. Our parish has been blessed with the many couples who have begun their marriage journey here. If you have any questions, please contact Kim Kuehn in the parish office 812-425-1577, ext. 210.

What are the requirements to get married here?
Either the bride or groom must be registered in a parish, a practicing Catholic and actively worshiping and involved at a church. Before scheduling a wedding, the interested couple will need approval from
Fr. Benny Chacko, Administrator of Sts. Mary and John Parish and their pastor of the parish they attend.

What are the costs associated with having a wedding?
The rental fee for the church is $850; There is a deposit of $250 required to hold the date requested. This deposit will go towards the church rental fee. This includes the fee for the Sacristan. The fee for musicians, and optional rental items are additional. The total rental fee and deposit will be returned if the date is cancelled.

Getting Married? Attention all engaged couples… Below are 2020 NFP Presentation dates for engaged couples through June. You can also find the information here: http://www.evdio.org/natural-family-planning.html. All couples must attend a free Natural Family Planning
(NFP) meeting, an Unveiled Retreat Day or Weekend for their Marriage Preparation(
or a Sponsor Couple program if available in the parish.), and complete the FOCCUS Inventory (Speak with your Pastor about completing the FOCCUS) before their wedding.
