Advent is a warm, welcoming time; like getting your home ready for a special guest.
The word Advent means ‘Coming’ in Latin. This is the coming of Jesus into the world. Advent is the period of four Sundays and weeks before Christmas. We use this time to prepare for the coming of Jesus and to remember what Christmas is all about… “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17. The true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of God’s incredible act of love for us.
